Swapnil Agaskar is a Printing Technologist from Sir J. J. School of Arts - Mumbai, where he studied photography as part of the curriculum and later followed it up with a specialized course, under Professor Shreekant Malushte at the Indian Institute of Photography in the 1980's.

He has a PPSA distinction from the Photographic Society of America and AFIP distinction from the Federation of Indian Photography.

Swapnil runs his own commercial photography venture, covering Corporate & Personal Portfolios, Products & Spaces. He also conducts personal training in photography, photography workshops and online tutorials.

As a Skipper with DCP Expeditions, Mumbai, he leads Photo Walks, Workshops and Photography tours. He has been a Photography Faculty with Aditya College of Design Studies, Mumbai.

For his passion, he shoots across various genres, with a special interest in Travel, Street & Wildlife photography. His work has been published in the Smart Photography magazine on various occasions. His images have been displayed in major exhibitions across Mumbai, Thane, Vasai, Pune, Nasik, Nagpur and Delhi in prestigious venues like Jehangir art gallery & Piramal art gallery (Mumbai), Baal Gandharva (Pune) & M F Husain art gallery (New Delhi). He has also curated and judged many photography competitions and exhibitions.

Saevus, India's popular Wildlife magazine, has featured Swapnil as the 'Photographer of the Month' in March 2019, on all their web properties. Saevus featured him in an interview on Instagram LIVE in June 2020.

Having won the 3rd, the 1st and the 2nd prize respectively, in the national competition of APAC, on consecutive occasions, he has featured in their photography exhibitions in the prestigious Piramal Art Gallery in NCPA, Mumbai.

Swapnil is the winner of the 'Mumbai Fotothon 2017' and was adjudged the second best photographer to cover the 'Naval Marathon 2018'. He has to his credit, over 500 International Salon acceptances across 150 image titles from 12 Countries and has won Gold medals from the Photographic Society of America and the Federation of Indian Photography.

'Photography Gupshup™ over Coffee with Swapnil' is a social cause initiative, where Photographers from around town are invited for an open discussion and knowledge sharing session with Swapnil over coffee. This happens every alternate Saturday at various locations in Mumbai and Thane and is limited to eight to ten participants, on first come basis.

Swapnil is a life member of the Photographic Society of India, a member of the Federation of Indian Photography and also a member of the Photographic Society of America. He is part of the judging panel and administration team of various online and offline associations, including NEST, a non-profit conservation organization.
